Hefz is a free app for memorizing the Quran. This page explains, in plain words, what it keeps about you and why.
You can use Hefz without signing in. Your progress and settings are then saved only in your browser on your device. They never reach our servers, and clearing your browser data deletes them.
When you sign in, we keep: your email address; the name, email and profile picture Google shares if you use "Continue with Google"; a display name (a random "Learner" name you can change); your time zone and daily goal.
We also keep your learning data: lessons and levels done, XP, streaks, review schedule, surah test results, quests, Noor, achievements and leaderboard standing, with the dates they happened. This is what lets your progress follow you between devices.
If you turn on daily reminders, we keep your device's notification address and the time you chose.
Other signed-in users can see your display name, XP and rank on the leaderboard. Nothing else about you is shown to anyone.
Supabase stores accounts and progress. Vercel and Cloudflare run and deliver the app. Google handles "Continue with Google" and sends sign-in code emails.
Quran audio and surah information load from everyayah.com, quranicaudio.com, Quran.com and QuranEnc.com. Like any website, these services receive basic technical details such as your IP address when your device asks them for something.
No ads. We don't sell or share your data for marketing, and we don't use tracking cookies.
Hefz is for all ages. Children under 13 should use it with a parent's permission. A parent can ask us to delete a child's account at any time.
Email saifdamer@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and we'll delete your account and everything linked to it.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
